Welcome to CaneApp
The app that lets you track hurricanes in new and exciting ways.
CaneApp relies on the following sources of data:
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) of the United States Government National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
The International Best Track Archive for Climate Stewardship (IBTrACS) of the U.S. NOAA.
Apple MapKit framework for iOS devices.
GoogleMap framework for Android devices.
Satellite Imagery comes from NOAA GridSat-B1 collection, and requires the following citation:

Please note: CaneApp presents storms around the world, and the language we use to describe the storms are American-centric. We use the term “tropical storm” and “hurricane” rather than “Tropical Cyclone” and “Typhoon”. At this point, all storms are rated according to the Saffir-Simpson hurricane wind scale. Here is another link on Saffir-Simpson from the NHC.
There is an enhancement coming to allow CaneApp to use other storm terminology.
